Lueny Morell, MS, PE, is CEO of Lueny Morell & Associates and Founder & Director of InnovaHiEd, a world-class team of experts with extensive academic and industry experience offering services to help higher education leaders in transforming their institutions to better respond to their stakeholders’ needs and the socioeconomic development challenges they face. With degrees in Chemical Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico and Stanford University, Lueny is co-founder of New Engineering University, a novel engineering school in Silicon Valley, California (now GalvanizeU). From 2002 to 2013 she was part of the HP Labs Strategy, Open Innovation and University Relations teams and before that a full professor of Chemical Engineering at University of Puerto Rico – Mayagüez for 24 years, where she had various academic and administrative positions, including Director of R&D. She is an IEEE Senior Member, an ASEE Fellow and ABET Program Evaluator, member of the International Center for Engineering Education in Beijing, China (a UNESCO, Chinese Academy of Engineering and Tsinghua University center) and has received various awards for her work, including the prestigious US National Academy of Engineering Gordon Prize for innovations in engineering education in 2006. Recognized as one of the Engineering Education Pioneers in the US in 2014, Lueny is passionate about engineering education and innovation as fundamental pillars for economic and social well-being. Uriel Rubén Cukierman, MS, PE, is President of IFEES, Associate Director of InnovaHiEd and professor/researcher at Universidad Tecnológica Nacional (UTN), the largest Engineering School in Argentina. He has served as the Dean of Engineering at the Universidad de Palermo (UP) and, previously, as the Information & Communications Technologies Secretary (equivalent to a VP position) at UTN for more than 15 years. With a BS in Electronic Engineering from UTN and a MS from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Uriel has been the Electronic Department founder and former Director at Technical School ORT Argentina, also the former Director of the Learning Technologies Bachelor at UTN. Research interests in Learning Technologies include the areas of mobile devices, learning management systems and the digital divide. Professor Cukierman has contributed to the National Universities Network as a member of its Administrating Committee and has worked as consultant for the National Communication Secretary and National Education Ministry in projects for distance learning and reducing the digital divide. Taught at the university level for over thirty years in electronics, computing, multimedia and learning technologies. He has served as a lecturer in seminars, courses and other specialized activities throughout Argentina and around the world. Wrote and published several original technical documents in different newspapers, journals and magazines in Argentina and in other countries. Produced three books about Learning Technologies and Engineering Education, one of which was published by Pearson. Authored five book chapters and more than 40 technical papers in refereed journals and conferences.
